You should maybe look up how paying with your phone works. And what in your mind is the thing banks will be begging Steam to be let in on? This reads like payment processing fan fiction.

I feel just as salty as you. I can assure you that when my projects are ready to appear in Show HN, my write-ups will read very differently from this formula. I think I've said something myself to this effect, on HN. What gnaw

God yeah the real truth is so obvious right? All the same, why don't you say what the real truth is, just so we know we're thinking about the same thing

I truly, truly do not get it. it's a system prompt. Do students not understand that they could do this before? Sure, it was crafted by educational experts, but this is not a feature! It's a glorified constant !

I dunno, we're kind of upset about it. And why are you blaming GP? They aren't the one who forced politics into science.

No disrespect to your acquaintance, but when I heard about this, I didn't think "oh a lot of startups are gonna go under", I thought "OAI added an option to use a hard-coded system prompt and they're calling it a &#

Yep, there's no accounting for taste. I find Rogan overrated and frankly pretty detestable. But I also find much of this list annoying. Popular things often aren't good, and good things often aren't popular.

An "authentic" list would be what exactly? It's opinion, man, it's right there in the title. When you make your own list, please let me know so I can also CMD-F for my faves and declare you an inauthentic ideologue

I think the better word is extremist, because choosing to brand all LLMs as "Slop Generators" is just that, an extremist position with a rather self-satisfied air about it.

This doesn't refute the (unmade) argument that inference is cheaper than training. Inference is cheaper than training, regardless of how much of each is taking place. Not only that, both keep getting less expensive in various ways. sma

Telling people it's a tool to edit git repos makes it sound hackier than it is; not surprising they're nervous it'll break something. Just tell them git makes mistakes easy, and jj makes them difficult.

The point of jj is to improve on the git interface. It's kind of weird to imply that jj's purpose is a drawback. I don't want git to stay git. Nor do I want SAAS solving stacked PRs for me, "free option" or not. jj

This captures a real person's experience going through a challenging time. Real life is messy, and long form writing in a documentary style doesn't need to make a point so long as it leaves you with an impression.
