There are _many_ other off the shelf core banking systems - some are more modern and cloud first (Mambu) and others more direct competitors to BANCS (Flexcube, Finacle, Temenos). I don't think many of them are Cobol/mainframe base

As a former McKinsey consultant this is very true. Most of the time the work was just cutting through the bureaucracy, interviewing people, getting all the data, synthesising it and present it back. To be fair though, once in a while there

It wasn’t a ponzi. He just took customers’ funds, gave them to Alameda and then gambled them away. To my knowledge there was no ponzi mechanism where older investors were paid from money invested by newer investors.
