Meanwhile AI has gotten so good it can just about one shot a SaaS app. I’m not worried about it…

Fully red pilled, I literally cannot believe the rhetoric I’ve been hearing inside major companies.

I love the idea but all I’m seeing is people saying really explicative things. Hopefully there are better ways of moderating

“Memory” systems are a way for developers to feel like they are contributing to AI

If we want to train a model excessively on SVGs it will obviously be able to do this. We have only just started trying to do that

I can’t believe anyone still thinks this given their unbelievable ability to write code. Self awareness? Probably not. Intelligence? You would have to be high to think that’s not the case. People are feeling threatened, and rightfully so. L

Intelligence is the ability to compress information. World models are just one aspect of that

Yet it can write code better than 99% of humans… It’s just starting to be trained on svgs, which is a really hard problem

What’s the difference? It’s clearly processing information and coming up with the right answer

Can’t wait till that turns into “regulatory capture”

If AI makes you more capable, it’s basically like having a capital injection. CEOs that look at that and think they need to reduce headcount seem to also be signaling they don’t know what to do with increased resources

Implementing whole features is? What are we talking about?

Pretty close to it, at least Rust for now. I can't tell the difference between asking it to output Rust vs anything else at this point

Your app will be demonstrably slower, less efficient, and less reliable than an app written in Rust

With writing code in english now, why have it use a slow weak language? ML still has a depth of libraries that can't be replicated easily but ML work is decreasing by the day with LLMs.

ML is basically the one use case for Python anymore. And that even shrinks by the day
47.
▲
by

It’s even discouraged now as LLMs wouldn’t have the documentation built in

IMO all of these higher level languages that were designed for humans have a very short lifespan at this point. The only thing propping them up seems to be loyalty for the most part.

I’m so happy with switching all my dev over to rust since AI coding. Everyone is lighting fast and super reliable

The Qwen series adopted vision wayyy earlier than anyone else. No idea why the other labs were sleeping on it but they had about 2 years of experimentation without any competition.

Blue zones were always just eat healthy, exercise, and having friends. I believe that these things almost certainly help longevity as a number of independent studies into each of these show that, and it’s intuitively obvious

Agree, the most important thing we can possibly do is enforce collectively owned compute This is why companies like Anthropic are so scary, they believe AI should be controlled by them alone

The government and collectives in general could easily help provide this. If enough people are out of work they will obviously band together

I don’t know that most people care at all or even know about this. ChatGPT still far and away has the largest consumer market and brand recognition. What Anthropic has done exceedingly well is work their way into corporations. I have person

Being a “prick” is completely inconsequential compared to the massive harm that anthropics views could create. Such as them genuinely believing they are the only ones who should control AI. What could possibly go wrong?

Anthropic believes they are the only people who should control AI. That alone is terrible. Also OpenAI has done actual work to try and mitigate the downstream negatives effects with UBI experiments. Sam isn’t perfect but it’s deeply unclear
