It's really cool to see a search engine alternative. I wonder about the practicality in the wake of large language models? It would seem almost easier to build a model that acts as a search engine than to build a traditional search eng

Of course you can build nice websites like that-- websites have been made nice before the world had SPAs. I have made a number of fully profitable (and pretty nice) websites over the last few years using that stack. I can't point to an

None. I'd use Go with standard library templates and plain ol' CSS with a sprinkle of JS. If I was forbidden to use that, I'd probably use Ruby on Rails, Django or something like that.

I have tried the pomodoro technique for several months. In the end, I quit. I found the technique was only good for "starting" the work. After that, the technique only got in the way. 1. If you're not a single person (ie, you

I have always used pg_bulkload. It's a bit of pain to compile but the tool is really fast... I love how you can define what to do with constraint conflicts, etc. Recently I used it to bulk import a billion rows and dedupe by a single c

Downtown Portland is a shadow of what it was ~8 years ago. You can't even walk down a street without feeling threatened anymore. Nothing will change unless they increase police presence and allow the police to clean the place up. They

I switch right away. If you're worried about supporting older Go compilers, you could always have build conditions for older versions that define missing things like: // +build !go1.7 type any = interface{}

I created a SaaS product (b2b) 7+ years ago. I work on it by myself with no team whatsoever. It generates around a million in profit in every year.
