I've had the same realization about the iPad after working with webOS on the HP touchpad. I think the reason so much gets taken for granted with the iPad and iPhone is that their design and interface are very intuitive, so that you never h

That's assuming you could account for the rate of psychopathy among those criminals who died before they could be tested for it as well as those who died before they were caught as criminals. Lifespan will also probably be different for cr

Another view could be that the psychopathic behavior may get you fired in a corporate setting and gunned down in a criminal one, so it may be simply that psychopaths last longer in non-violent areas of society.

I went DVD-only. I had worked up a list a mile long of movies I wanted to watch, and most of them were only available on disc, so I ended up going with that, figuring when I was done I could switch to streaming (and by then they'd probably

I don't think the argument lies with whether or not record labels provide a valuable service to their artists, they do, but more if the value of their services will remain above their cost. When they were the only distribution game in town

There's been an experimental feature in the works under chrome's about:flags page called Multiple Profiles, which may eventually do what you describe, though it's still under development so you aren't able to turn it on yet: Multiple Profil

For those who keep mentioning the 10,000 hour rule, I wonder if anyone has heard of any tools for tracking this number? As in, a tool for logging hours spent practicing different subject areas with the specific goal of reaching 10,000 hour

Another thought would be simply that if SPDY makes it more attractive/easier/secure/efficient for developers to implement push, then users will benefit simply from it being included in more apps.

Another route they could take with the ipod touch/phone idea, is make faceTime and its underlying software a first-class VOIP phone network with clients on multiple platforms and sell the ipod as a wifi phone without a subscription fee. I'

I think for a lot of people, myself included, a queue is simply a list of movies I'd like to see, in roughly the order I'd like to see them. Choosing a delivery method for the movie is a secondary thought, that right now is dead simple to

Same here - I actually caught myself looking up at the date on the taskbar before realizing the same thing. I think the ridiculousness of the 'Qwikster' brand name was what made me doubt it at first.

I think the market for an a la carte sports offering would be people who are really only hanging on to cable for it's live sports. If that is the case, then these people could go from paying $60-100 a month to $20 - so it really depends ho

I'm not well aware of any iTunes competitor with the number of paying customers apple has or had when iTunes first came out - I'm guessing they just went where the money was.

When the netflix pricing scheme changed, I personally switched from the 1 disc + unlimited streaming to discs only - simply for the selection it offers. I'd rather have good selection and have to wait a day or two than have limited selecti

Even without changing much to the existing model of interaction I would appreciate the opportunity to pay a reasonable fee for access to non-local broadcasts. My ideal would be the ability to pay a discount rate for season-long subscriptio
