What will I do with massive parallel computing? Better simulations and writing non-optimized code in 1/10,000 lines of code (see Steps project at Alan Kay's VieuwPoints Research Institute http://www.vpri.org/pdf&#x

I have had a similar experience searching for a business co-founder. I might be able to help out, if you contact me through my profile email. I want to code a really good app store marketplace someday, similar to trading digital goods.

A wonderful interview. Alan made me realize why I myself wasn't educated in any real sense. Now that I am educated, mostly by him, our two startups and research institute do the right Science and make the right technology (a programmin

I have enough knowledge of this material to write two books on this subject. I'd love to write it, I maybe have three chapters written already. With some effort we could even include some demo's of these systems (see my hn profile

We are interested to use your "noodling" experiences in free space optics and packet radio as an additional interface type in our switch hardware. We have a low cost design for 1 Gbps free space optics below 1 km distances, simila

Indeed. 'Our' mesh network is about 65 + 420 man years accumulative work on both free and open hardware and software, we are 95% done. I would say that some scientists group efforts can be considered a single line of collaboration

They forget about wear and tear. The bandwidth is limited, as you should measure it in low-power high-bits/cubic-meter[1]. The higher the drone, the greater the distance therefore the lower the bandwith per cubic meter. A fast mesh net

I will try to be succinct here, but that is hard to do on the spur of this moment. I must refer to my scientific papers (see my HN profile for email address) where I had a few months to describe it right. Indeed, the website is being worked

But can these people built a better Tor network/tunnel than the Tor/EFF people did? Doubtful. Libernet seems based on Linux, itself not secure. My group has solved both this problem, without using security flawed Linux/Unix (

We build a fiber optic link of 10 miles in rural areas for less then $400 per house. I think many of the assumptions you make are incorrect, as we find no rural area that is to expensive to service. Just don't ask the incumbents.

We use some of these tricks to reduce cost for people who don't need 1 GBps. But serious users all want 10 GBps fiber. We deliver that over 4 redundant connections of 10 Gbps each.

First of all, we try to circumvent simulating the ASIC design by debugging the design in FPGAs. We then simulate the working design in software on our own small supercomputer built with these FPGAs. Simulating on many cores and running the
