I run a registry inside minikube as well. However to push from my laptop I use a docker image that runs socat and proxys to the minikubeip:registrynodeport. Works great and is really portable. I just stop the local container when i'm d

What features from terminator are missing that iterm2 has? What features does the osx window manager have that are not in gnome3? Have you tried elementary OS? If you are looking for a comparable polished experience I think you will be surp

If you are using ubuntu as a base you are probably better off installing k8s directly with a tool such as https://kubernetes.io/docs/getting-started-guides/kubeadm/ On ingress: You can use ingress to load bal

The best way to learn is to start low-level. It sounds like you are interested in k8s specifically (which I HIGHLY recommend, it's the future). Don't use a layer on top of k8s like Deis, just use k8s itself. I would recommend you

That's what this does and more. What you described are techniques. Linkered is an implementation. From https://blog.buoyant.io/2017/04/25/whats-a-service-mesh-and-... Linkerd applies dynamic routing rule

It's basically a configurable proxy for communication between services. Kubernetes has the concept of "services" which allow you to declare a dns name for service discovery, but it's fairly barebones. By using linkerd, y

Interesting that it seems like there is a bunch of overlap with linkerd in the k8s space. With both k8s and linkerd being CNCF projects, I wonder why google is putting so many resources behind envoy rather than linkerd. I guess that's

Thanks for the reply. The post was great! I've seen some Titus stuff in clouddriver so i'm pretty excited to eventually try it out. Running Spinnaker + Kubernetes now and it's amazing. Seriously powerful combo!

In my opinion, if you are running containers in prod, you need to be on Kubernetes, regardless of scale. Kubernetes is so much more than just "planet scale". It encourages patterns and mindsets for efficient software delivery that
