Look again - Docker for Mac control panel is clearly visible and "running" behind the VM window.

I agree, which is why rosetta is irrelevant here.

A Linux virtual machine is required to run Docker on macOS. Linux containers need a Linux kernel to function.

Apple's "demo" showed Docker for mac running, complete with containers. https://i.imgur.com/bQb1grM.png Docker here is saying their "for mac" application dependencies are not even all working yet.

Found a preview of this on youtube for anyone curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgUYurzK-tM The example footage looks awesome - incredible quality but unmistakably vintage.

Is "unified" the same thing as "shared" outlined here? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shared_graphics_memory I'm curious if the same drawback mentioned for shared applies to unified > A side

Screenshot of Docker for Mac control panel during the WWDC demo. It even shows some containers running. https://i.imgur.com/bQb1grM.png Pretty misleading to include it in the demo if Docker for Mac still doesn't launch

It's more about losing the ability to boot into windows to game there, as well as losing egpu support.

> Why would anyone (who is not forced) buy an Intel PC laptop when these are available and priced as competitive as they are? - locked bootloader - no bootcamp - can't install or boot linux or windows - virtualization limited to arm

Your Udacity course https://youtu.be/zZ2NgJ2-A4c was my first taste of k8s and really got me excited about it. I eventually decided to focus and specialize around it and couldn't be happier. Thank you!

I hear this a lot but have any actual, tangible comparisons been done with k3s vs kubeadm arm resource use?

It does. Upstream kubeadm - authentic kubernetes - can even run on a single node. Not sure why people choose k3s or microk8s when you can just as easily deploy the real thing.

Cluster API does both! The operator rolls out immutable machine images that make up clusters. It's badass.

Not all ec2 instances are k8s nodes though. My thought is using this to manage all ec2 instances via k8s. Instead of the aws console
