You can do exactly this with proxmox or esxi. Create a main "gaming vm" to autostart with GPU + USB passthrough. Then you can manage your other vms from the web browser on your gaming vm.

It seems to be under pretty active development but I do like their strategy of releasing early and often. I haven't run into any issues yet with it in my lab. My biggest wishes for Truenas Scale: 1. NVMe-oF support (over RDMA or TCP) 2

In truenas scale (based on linux not freebsd) they actually run most integrated and 3rd party "apps" (including minio) inside a k3s cluster running on truenas itself

TrueNAS just packages minio, so it would seem to be the same result but with less flexibility and visibility to the cluster. Although if the strategy is to not hyperconverge storage that could be desired I guess

"Meanwhile, Innodisk unveiled the world’s first 10GbE M.2 module." Nvme to pcie adaptors have existed for a while and are super cheap and simple to use. Not sure I get what all the fanfare is about this.

Disappointed the arm release is raspberry pi specific and not a standard uefi aarch64 iso installer. Upstream Ubuntu releases these and they work great for esxi arm edition.

Wow I did not know this. I've been thinking about picking up an Nvidia card to play with vgpu on vsphere - so it sounds like this would be impossible without an additional license fee?! What a bummer.

Check out proxmox which supports kvm and lxd so it's easy to compare. lxd uses less resources and an image registry vs finding/building kvm cloud images.

K8s actually doesn't support deploying a single container, only a pod which can have 1 or more containers. This is very powerful and enables all kinds of other patterns like sidecars and init containers

You can achieve a similar effect in "standard" containers by running systemd as the entrypoint. This is how kind runs containers as k8s nodes. I agree it's a very handy scenario for many workloads. This does makes me want to

There is nothing fancy or proprietary about this, it's a usb-c to displayport adaptor that is designed to fit flush into the body. You can use the same adaptor on a macbook if you wanted to, and certainly don't need to shutdown t
