I read something once about the question of Airbus and Boeing subsidies. The short answer was “It’s complicated.” Of course, that particular question seems to have been rendered irrelevant by Boeing’s quality crisis.

I’m gonna be the grumpy old man here, but this is a marketing page. If there’s science going on here, it’s not even mentioned. Instead it’s all artist’s visualisations of infra-red data of an unusual galaxy. Is the galaxy of any scientific

Honestly I don’t know why more languages don’t just adopt e.g. npm, maven or NuGet. They’re largely language independent at the binary level anyway.

A lot of the hate you get depends not on what you say, but what you are.

I have no idea whether fission plants are competitive with gas plants, and knowing a bit about multi-decade projects, I suspect no-one does. It’s all guesswork. What I do know is fission has a horrible cost profile. First there’s a huge bui

The Economist always phrases articles to imply that private investment is a magical elixir that will make problems go away.

One day it is hoped that enough mathematicians will have worked on the problem to have finally, definitively answered Steve Ballmer’s interview question. The job will be shared between them.

I mean, C#'s IEnumerator is equivalent and is way more complex. You just don't need to think about it much.

That would be true if Twitter hadn't changed, but it really has. More bots, more commercial accounts (or nakedly commercial accounts) and far fewer people getting into deep discussions of Nix and Haskell with dumb jokes.

I mean, yes there’s arrow data types, but it’s got a long way to go before it’s got full parity with the numpy version.

I never got disenchanted with Twitter. It got boring. If it had stayed the same I’d still be on there complaining about it.

Honestly the results as reported mostly tell me that the positioning run by organisations that find certain scientific consensuses inconvenient to have been effective.

I think the thing that's really sticks out is that the breath noise are gone, which is one of the things that gives the track its character. Willing to bet the same kind of thing happens to fret noise as well.

I mean, Unreal is still Epic and while they’re sometimes underdogs, they’re pretty much always the bad guys.

I have no idea how this would work either, but I feel like the election makes this more likely to happen, not less, after the amount of rhetoric that Google needs taking down a peg.

The question isn't really how many would think it meant nanonmeters, it's how many would recognise it as nautical miles.

Speaking as a consumer, Netflix’s solution is objectively better than it’s competitors. It handles network blips better, it’s more responsive to use, it has far fewer random bugs you need to work around. You can argue whether or not that ed

Honestly not true. At its best, Twitter educated me on many subjects including many non-political ones. And as for journalism, well I’m not sure much that I would recognise as high-quality has survived the economic pressures of the internet
