There’s not really a difference. Once you’ve got the ability to selectively disable encryption and you’ve folded to one regime, you’re gonna fold to them all.

I’m loving this: it’s a complete misfeature that anyone can point out is conceptually just wrong, but also implemented so incompetently there’s a workaround.

I feel like the “no cutscenes” thing is overplayed. I’m not saying it wasn’t huge, but there was a lot more to HL’s storytelling than just the “animatronics on a fairground ride” stuff. They could have done that without the constantly evolv

Who are these articles for? I feel like Clojure’s value proposition is pretty well understood, and every last Clojure pitch can be relied upon to make the same exact points.

I mean, congratulations you’ve explained why the Speechers criticising Twitter were always wrong on this point, but Twitter has now been taken over by people who’ve been pushing a very unamerican idea of free speech so it’s fair game to poi

It’s weird the way that people decide something is “political” and then swear black is white to support that political belief.

Let me ask a related question, how does employing the power of the federal government to do the reverse manually and at genuine cost to the taxpayer help anyone?

The roots of the 2nd amendment are way murky. Two contributing factors: 1) Guns were essential for controlling slaves 2) No-one trusted the US Army (partly because it was heavily associated with Alexander Hamilton)

U2 literally employ a stylist who buys their clothes from second hand clothes markets. An incredibly expensive way of supporting a “no consumption” aesthetic.

Speaking as an old C# hand: 1) I don’t think static methods/classes are that big a deal. There’s a free-floating syntax for short scripts but I don’t regard this as much of a problem. There’s also the rarely used using static syntax. 2

I've been laid off a few times. I'd add one more "danger sign": you're not busy. If the firm/department doesn't seem to be achieving very much, it's a good sign that no-one's asking much of them.
