(As good as) No login (if you're logged into Google) Docs UI -- Editing documents in a proper word processor is better than most blogging platforms This lets you make a blog of existing docs It's not a drop-in replacement for ever

I don't know why this is attracting so much hate here. It's a novel and useful idea. Sure, you're relying on Docs, but that's an established, mainline Google service which makes them money through their enterprise work

I don't know why the slack desktop client is so popular. It's almost no different from the web client, but eats more RAM if you already have Chrome open. Just pin Slack in a tab and save your memory

The analysis after the elections was interesting-- think pieces asking things like "How could the stats have been so wrong?!". A fair dice has a roughly 83% chance of landing on a number between 1 and 5, but if you roll a 6 you do

You can sleep after n minutes of lid closed. I find this a good compromise of not toasting my laptop in a bag, and being able to head to a different room without losing any application state

That comes with the implication that everything in classical physics is a solved problem though. Just because you can distill anything to meta-questions doesn't mean you should, or that it's (necessarily) a productive exercise for
