It reminds me of that one now-infamous tweet about how an NFT of a diamond is more valuable than an actual diamond since a diamond can be destroyed.

Not to mention that the product you get from dedicated merchants will invariably be better. The worst bakery in my city is leagues better than the best bread available at Wal Mart

Remember the ultra-cheap Windows XP machines that came loaded with weird bloatware? That's what a stock install of contemporary Windows feels like. I think Microsoft is doing so many things right, but the direction Windows is taking is

What is obsolete about Mac software? It seems like much of Windows' evolution since 7 is just ads and janky telemetry features which nobody wants.

There's a cynical comment like this on every battery story, ignoring the fact that battery breakthroughs do exist, and that lithium ion energy density has ~tripled in the past decade.

But OOT was a AAA title already, and there were already several wildly successful Zelda games before OOT too. There's so many reasons why Zelda is, if anything, a counterexample to this phenomenon.

BOTW and TOTK are two of the highest rated games of all time. If you want to persuade people of your case, you would do well not to use a hot take as your example.

I don't like this argument. As if an indie shoemaker should be grateful to have the privilege to get in a bidding war against Nike for who can give Facebook more money to get noticed.
