I haven't seen anything about SOPA/PIPA on Reddit, apart from the warning that they were going to be down protesting against it. It's just not come up on the subreddits I read. I imagine it hasn't shown up on most non-politics non-internet

I expect it's something along the lines of "Everyone on HN is already aware about SOPA/PIPA, so what would be the point?"

How did it help the Spanish that SOPA+PIPA aren't already the law in America? They had a law foisted on them anyway.
848.

My understanding is that it's illegal for foreigners to donate to US PACs. Is that correct?

Useful if you're taking (part of) your site offline for any reason, not only if you're protesting against SOPA+PIPA.

Or, to put it another way, non-Windows OSs will be locked out of these ARM-based devices, and that's ok because Linux isn't available for these devices yet. If Windows had anywhere near the dominance in tablets that it has in PCs, that woul

What we don't know is how many people flagged each link. (Not that I think either link should have collected flags, personally, but you know what people are like.)

Google HQ is in UTC-0800, right? They've probably not been aware of it for very long, and are probably scrambling to find out Google Kenya's side of the story.

Google are responsible for their employees' actions. But there is still a difference between employees doing evil in defiance of management's orders, doing evil as instructed by management, and doing evil in a climate of management neglect.

I'm not even sure anything's happened. The only indication I've seen that anything's wrong comes from an unreliable site. See http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/of0lu/wtf_is_goin... Or the problem could be local to North America o

I have problems with that equation. First, log10 (totalC / totalA) = log10 totalC - log10 totalA. As totalA is constant across customers, we can discard that term. (And think about it: why would a £100/year customer be worth less to you if

Some women have noticed that some men don't listen to substantive points when they are made by women, only when they are made by men. And so they have asked male friends to make these points for them.
