Wondering if it's worthwhile just rolling my own vm and run whatever i want in there. I'd lose all the ability to bind to my host's ports, but would be able to control the daemon a bit better.

Doesn't the low clearance between the keyboard and the display cause an issue? I get key rub marks on my display, and I don't even have a cover. (I do transit with my macbook in my backpack, which is a likely cause of the rub mark

Apple's terrible handling of OpenGL has been around before Metal was a thing, doubt we'll see a turnaround anytime soon.

There is Musish ( https://musi.sh/ ) which uses the MusicKit JS to allow Apple Music playback in the browser. There are also plans to bring the Apple TV app to Smart TV platforms as well, so a similar framework may be on the

If it's an expanded battery and you are out of warranty, they should only charge the cost of the battery to get that fixed up, so you wouldn't be out of pocket for the top case part (which is much more expensive) nor any other com

Could also just use bash to bootstrap an environment, like how RVM does.

YouTube for iOS does something similar when clicking a hyperlink; it'll give you a popup for what browser, Safari or Chrome, even if Chrome isn't installed.

Ask for the functional test that's performed before and after each repair, if they can't produce the results you should be able to escalate further quite easily.

GateKeeper (the mechanism that enforces this) can be easily disabled. It could even be disabled from the UI, up until a few releases ago.

I'd imagine it's another tier for Gatekeeper (the mechanism in macOS that verifies this). Gatekeeper can be outright disabled if desired (appears missing from the System Preferences UI though), allowing all unsigned code to run. C

So strange, as i'm the polar opposite. I vastly prefer having everything update at once and be able to check versions, etc. I use homebrew and chocolately when I'm on macOS or Windows respectively to get that experience back. I ca

Devil's advocate here, Rossman cites that only a pin needed to be bent back in the case of the flickering display. Apple has to provide a warranty on their service, therefore they want the solution that is least likely to break again.
