The solution is to codify these sorts of things in prompts and tool use and gateways like linters etc. you have to let go…

Great piece. Also, thinking about Sam Altman talking to Theo Von about Dyson spheres kinda makes me want to live on a different planet.

I think you’re right - even if we accept the premise that there’s only room for minor marginal improvements, there’s vast amounts of room for improvement with integrations, mcp, orchestration, prompting, etc. I’m talking mostly about coding

Same here, I was convinced Cline+OpenRouter was the way to go. But with Claude code I’m getting better results and saving money, even compared to planning with Sonnet and transitioning to act mode with DeepSeek, I was still using more than

I’ve tried enforcing no-explicit-any just to have the agent disable the linter rule. I guess I didn’t say you couldn’t do that…

I was recently thinking, if services offered sufficient api docs/specs you could really just provide an llm to the client and have any client build their own UI to fit their needs. Maybe not that you’d want to. But you could!

You’re looking as a dev, but the reality is that a consumer cannot see technical debt. If the studio churns out a game, the vendor sprinkles on some optimizations, people play it and move on, then the tech debt just vaporizes into the void.

You “call upon” the function to perform a task, or return a value as the case may be. Just as you may call upon a servant or whatever.

Have you used Cline with opus+sonnet? Do you have opinions about Claude code vs cline+api? Curious to hear your thoughts!

I agree, having used Cline I am not sure what advantages this would offer, but I would like to know (beyond things like “it’s got an open source ide” - Cline has those too specifically because I can use it in my open source ide)

This take really misses a key part of implementation of these LLMs and I’ve been struggling to put my finger on it. In every LLM thread someone chimes in with “it’s just a statistical token predictor”. I feel this misses the point and I thi

You’re arguing against a strawman here, you’ve said a lot of things here that I did not say. You seem to be trying to win a fight that I’m not trying to start, and that’s ok. I said it’s not for me, and I will stand by that. Anyone who come

This is part of why I don’t understand the argument for vim/emacs. If you _like_ those then keep using them by all means. But when people tell me “it’s so much more efficient if you never have to take your hands off the keyboard”, I do

I had a PSP and also loved it, but I don’t feel like it was that mind blowing. The tricks they pulled made it less impressive IMO. Most games felt like cheap pantomime versions of what you wanted them to be, you’d buy something and then go

This is gaslighting. Even if it’s a coincidence, people have numerous examples of situations where they or anyone with them did not search for a thing. I’m not saying the only possible explanation is that the phone is spying on you - but I’

I think it’s wild that your counter argument is basically just gaslighting everyone. There are tons of (possibly coincidental) examples of this type of thing happening. Even if it’s a coincidence, it’s not explained away by “maybe everyone
