I recently saw a relative yell at their computer, as the chromecast popup menu grabbed the mouse focus and they couldn't pause the youtube video. I'm not impressed with their decisions in regards to UX.

I'm still annoyed. It really clamped down on the culture.

Tk is pretty fast. It has bindings in multiple languages, though I'd suggest TCL. There is a starkit idea floating around, where people package a binary for each platform along with any other dependencies. It is much lighter than el

I completely agree, and no, it shouldn't be a prerequisite for voting. Using a mountain of indigestible information to assuage potential ignorance doesn't make much since... Like I said, I don't know how it should be presen

I would be curious as to how well public opinion correlates with legislation in regards to healthcare. The 'selling' of healthcare seems to be mostly propaganda, not a comprehensive description of the structures, inputs, and outp

-- Which amplifies the cost incredibly, through reactionary rather than preventative care. Sadly, it seems like most people I've had to inform of this perceive more than one bogeyman in more socialist systems.

Thanks for this, bookmarked. There is a pretty large community of creative coders that would use this.

Its not uncommon in my experience as a native speaker. I feel like the context of gratis is more transactional than the context of free; eg. "Its a free country" makes more sense than "Its a gratis country".

It seems like any consensus on ignoring/utilizing system themes is transient. I know I'm glad when they are mostly ignored on mac, while glad when they are utilized on linux.

The idea that something in the commons should be funded by the majority isn't a new one. At this point the debate turns into an argument on tax policy and its peripherals... I don't think that debate will end until we all create

Does anyone else see a fairly strong network effect with versioning software? Most TCL users seem to use fossil. Most web developers use git. A bunch of impressive, older software uses svc. Huh.

Ah, this gets into gpl vs bsd though doesn't it? I'm not sure what to think about dual licensing. I have a fondness for Qt, but I also like tcl/tk so... its hard not for me to think of that xkcd about standards. https:&#x

It would be awesome if the layers of the browser would allow for a more parseable, document-based web. That would be an effort towards standardization. But are you really advocating for removing dynamic media from the browser? That seems

The only counter argument to this I could imagine would be the one I often hear used for other brain abnormalities; i.e. if the knowledge of a potential health problem instigates a mental health issue, ignorance could be better. I subscribe

I'm not sure about python's, but thankfully tcl's interpreter is so small you can package it with all your other code. Edit: Is there a python equivalent of tclquadcode, https://core.tcl.tk/tclquadcode/di
