I find this really helps not to get burned out: - limit your work hours to something reasonable during the day, no excuses. Everyone has a different capacity. No point over exerting now, you are just borrowing from the future self. - use po

I knew someone in Canada that operated a snow plow in rural area in the winter. Then back to programming the rest of the year.

Maybe enough to get a jr position and to demonstrate dedication? You can learn everything else on the job. I found my studies were largely useless and a lot of it was just filler, fee justification material. One of the mandatory elective cr

I’d be surprised if they didn’t. If a crow can figure out how to drop nuts under the car path, then I’m sure early humans have figured out a bunch of stuff too.

Hard to say if they saved money. This fraud definitely has a negative impact on both sellers and buyers. Buyers are losing trust in Amazon due to sub standard products. Sellers are getting fed up and quitting or moving on.

Cheap food is subsidized by the government due to lobbying of large and powerful industries. These foods (empty carbs, cheap vegetable oils) are extremely unhealthy for humans. If that’s all you can afford then you really have no choice.

I personally wouldn’t say that Spotify does it well. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a good recommendation. And daily playlists are a mess.

* Entire forests are cleared to grow soy. Animals living in those forests die or migrate and then die from hunger from lack of resources. * Commercial, at-scale plantations kill a huge number of insects, and animals, like rodents and field

It is true that most cows aren’t grass fed. But that’s what we need to focus on. And not focusing on eating soy. Let’s fix the commercial animal husbandry to do it properly without shortcuts. Sure the meat will be more expensive but then na

Yeah, and we shouldn’t feed animals soy. I’m for that 100%. So we should fight for that. If everyone stops eating meat and starts eating soy we won’t be growing much less of it. We just transfer the problem from one place to another.

Highly recommended reading is Sacred Cow book. It’s the most well researched, fact based, science based book thus far that is pro meat. https://www.sacredcow.info/ Impossible ingredients are pretty bad and aren’t that good

The Mongolian Cyrillic one is quite a trip. As a native Russian speaker, it just looks so odd. Like a broken website encoding from early days of the internet.

My dream is to build something like this but in TypeScript, full stack. Using CDK for deployments, but also a really tight integration with higher order components. E.g. define a lambda handler and it automatically wires CDK code. I guess k

It is so sad, but true. Canada is such a fantastic country in many ways, but the corruption on every level makes everything so expensive. Leaves nothing for good projects that are so badly needed to make it first class.
