Reads like an ad for Upwork tbh.

I use GTD with TickTick app. I tried many apps, but I found TickTick to be superior to all. It's light, native, and includes everything I need: lists, pomodoro, kanban mode, and very snappy response.

Weekend is an invented concept, not some kind of natural phenomenon. I prefer to work whenever I feel like to work. But I love my work, so I have no issues with motivation. I also prefer to have days off on non-weekend days. That allows me

Likewise I doubt it. I had a friend who was doing tree planting during the summers back in the college days. They were planting tree saplings, and even then many did not survive. It’s a numbers game. However, this is a difficult and expensi

Do you know that brain uses about 60% of the energy? If you think hard it might use more, I don’t know :)

Why is that sad? And how do you define work? Personally, I love what I do and would be delighted to be still able to work at his age.

Wouldn’t change anything. Caffeine is just an addiction like any other. It only provides a boost if you aren’t addicted. Otherwise it just brings you to baseline. I’ve quit for long periods and restarted many times. It’s only slightly diffi

I’ve tried a bunch of these sorts of tools. And nothing stuck over the years. But two things did after all, recently: 1. Using Bear.app. I realized that I just hated slow, sloggy note apps. Bear is native and very fast! Faster than Apple’s

Delete the apps from your phone. Call your bank and ask them to block transactions from these apps.

It was always like that though. It’s just now “API” means “an HTTP endpoint serving JSON”. And before it was SOAP. And before it was MS COM. And before it was some mainframe app in COBOL.

Yes and no. Simple on the surface. But complex under the hood. A good example of the managed complexity is AWS AppConfig. It helps with feature value validations to prevent bad input, it helps with gradual roll out and roll backs if alarm i

Second this. I would NEVER hardcode credentials into a config file. I run all AWS commands through an assumed role (STS) via aws-vault.

Hm, PayScale salaries for Sales Engineers are rather low.

I’m very much like that. What’s that role/position called? Sales engineer? Or is it more than that?

That’s not the logic at all. The logic is what I said. If you start growing more plants it will not fix monocropping issue. It will only make it worse. If you don’t want to eat beef that has been fed monocropped feed then vote with your wal

I was a vegan for 2 years in the past. First year I also didn’t have any deficiencies. But then it all caught up and ruined my health after two years. Low iron, low B12, constant fatigue, low libido (in 20s), muscle mass loss (people who ha

You believe beef has no cost. But you can’t be sure. I believe beef provides superior, and evolutionary-compatible nutrition for my body. And lack of that nutrition will have a negative effect on my health, and thus associated costs with it

Arguing against meat is like arguing against cars. Can society live without cars? Probably. We did before. Will it be an interesting and convenient future? Probably not. But we have alternatives (electric cars)! And we keep looking for more

But if the demand for meat drops, and demand for veggies goes up, do you think farms will all of a sudden abandon monocrop practice? Of course not, because that’s how farming-at-scale system is designed. They want to use fewer tools, ultra

Not if you farm Joel Salatin style. He has a great sustainable system.

Red meat is not devastating. It’s corporate farming, and race to the bottom farming. Vote with your dollar and buy sustainable meat.

Ya I can see that. Try CDK though, it’s on the next level. There’s even a cdktf project!

Totally agree and this mirrors my experience. I spent years tinkering with devops, custom VPSes, Ansible, etc. AWS CDK is unparalleled experience. Truly a multiplier in productivity that I haven’t experienced in 20 years working on the web.
