It took me 10+ years to realizing I’m the opposite of a discovery coder. I’m much more efficient with thinking through the problem with pen and paper before even touching the keyboard.

Im currently taking this course without having the book and it works great. I might buy the book later but for me it’s important to have the imposed weekly deadlines in order to not just drift away and do something else instead.

The best way to remove the GIL completely is switching language to Go, unfortunately this is not always possible.

An ORM makes sense if you need to make very dynamic SQL queries, ie advanced logic at runtime. If your app can work well with static queries then you should not add an ORM.
