It does load fast though. I played with a little SWT app and it was amazing to to see a Java GUI that would launch with no perceivable delay.

To be fair, it can be faster if the binds cause the plan to be much more efficient. I've had to remove binds before for this very reason. Note that this was exactly once in 20 years.

Same here. Order seems to be: 1) Bad contractors, 2) Bad employees, 3) Good contractors, 4) Good employees with Mgt going along the way from bottom to top. Pay doesn't usually seem to be the deciding influence except within the grou

Because it was real? It was infected computers scanning, not people. Once infected you joined the group scanning random ips and it grew like you would expect it to. At the peak it got so bad that IPSs were blocking affected ports on all co

According to the "Master Plan part 2", a "new type" of pickup is in the works. That is pretty much all that has been released at this point though.

Probably not easily. Remember this is what java AWT did and it was a complete mess. Write once debug everywhere. My favorite issues was that on one OS (windows I think) a panel would only be visible if pixel 0,0 was on the screen and noth

There is no need for a browser to download something from the internet. You only need the browser to browse the internet. (hence the name) A simple UI with a list of options was all that was needed.

By bad, I thought it was longer then that. That said, I'm pretty sure the "RoundUp Ready 2 Yield trait" has nothing to do with the application of RoundUp. It is the same gene that gave resistance to RoundUp but when inserted

How does the GC change allocations? While I agree that this Linked list memory layout should be optimized, with real world tests Array backed normally win by a large margin.

The performance issue still stands. Linked Lists are often MUCH slower then array backed lists on modern hardware. This is true even when doing lots of inserts. Having all your list in the CPU cache is just too much of a performance gain

Changing the games doesn't really help unless you also change the network protocol as a lot of hacks just inspect the network data steams. This makes it harder to check for at runtime and it is harder to change the network protocols s

Historically, I don't think it has worked like this for Intel. It costs way more to have multiple designs so they are all pretty much the same few chips with the packaging changed to disable parts. Sometimes the disabled parts failed

To make it worse, they switched up the OEM model numbers to be unique so you can't tell for sure that the $300 dell cpu upgrade is really only switching out a $100 for a $250 one.

They don't usually "Fork" much of kernel, they (mostly) just have drivers(modules) outside it. When refactors happen to kernel internals, they don't happen to external modules so it is hard to get them up to date with t

Not. Good for knowledge transfer but not much else. The people who don't what to work will just hide in back and the ones that normally do the work will spend lots of time explaining it to the people hiding.

Really it is the requirement to to redefine your model in backbone that is a deal breaker. Alot of code that just don't have to write in other frameworks, although i understand why it is there. Most of the unmaintainable comes from it
