I prefer my movie reviews to be longer in duration than the movies themselves.

Sure, and that's not easy, but it's a lot easier than having to crawl the entire public Internet yourself.

If the problem could be solved by throwing more money at it, it would have been solved long ago. Some poorly performing inner-city school districts are among the highest of per-pupil spenders in the country. Some problems can't be solv

Obviously that's the case, which is why it's not fair to claim homeschooling parents "trivially outcompete" the public school system. That was my point. > (not gonna lie, feels like a euphemism) Are we still doing not

I agree, but it’s tough to see the studies showing average daily screen time of different age groups and not see that as a pretty obvious contributor.

To be fair: that mom gets to pick and choose which kids to teach. She probably wouldn’t get the same result if she had to apply the same techniques to inner-city Detroit kids six hours a day and five days a week.

This. I wouldn’t exactly give them bonus points for the handling of Apple Intelligence, but beyond that, they’ve taken a much more measured and evidence-based approach to LLMs than the rest of big tech. If it ends up that we are in a bubble

I'm kind of surprised that using object storage wasn't a first-class concern. Though I guess if running it at home was the biggest thing, that's not the top priority, but still. Using fast, cheap object stores (often with CDN

You can use headscale [1] (open source) as the mothership, and all the published clients (AFAIK) support pointing them to an alternative mothership. I set it up, and it worked, but regular Tailscale works so well out-of-the-box that I just

It may depend on what you count as a supplement. Fiber and protein are pretty good to supplement, though obviously you can also get them from diet. And testosterone (at least for males), though not without side effects.

I just made a similar transition a few weeks ago. I just often felt like I wasn't making progress on various things I've been wanting to, that I used to do, and for which I kept telling myself I don't have time. And it wasn&#

My preference is to register a publicly resolvable domain and then just only use it internally. Then you can still get publicly trusted TLS certificates for it, in case you want them. Doesn’t stop you from using your own private CA, either,

I think current implementations of AI are vastly overhyped in the market. There's a huge gap between what people think or expect from AI and what has been delivered, and the deliveries are not likely to catch up in the short or medium

A lot of these C-suite people also expect the remaining ones to be replaced by AI. They subscribe to the hockey-stick "AGI is around the corner" narrative. I don't, but at least it is somewhat logical. If you truly believe th

It’s basically the same as the UDP mode, except wrapped into TCP. Presumably because that’s simpler than redesigning it from the ground up for TCP. So the handshake and such will not look like a normal TLS handshake.
