Attending K-12 in the late 80's/early 90's I didn't know anyone with a serious allergy in school. There was never any concern about peanut butter food/snacks, or anything like that. A few kids with inhalers, that

Very true. I have a single rack mount server in my HVAC room, and it's still so loud I had to glue soundproofing foam on the nearby walls:)

My range hood will actively draw smoke from 10+ feet away, so I have to assume it has no problem sucking up virtually all the gases coming from the flames 3 feet directly below it.

You can absolutely run N2O with a turbo or supercharged engine. I ran a NXExpress rig on my '99 Eclipse GSX back in the day (with a big turbo).

You should see if you can pay for an unlimited data option. Comcast had a $50/month add-on that would remove all data caps, and saved me a TON of money.

It's not a lot of trouble. To be fair my GitLab instance isn't setup for large numbers of public contributors. I have a somewhat limited network connection and work on projects that often have large-ish codebases, building Dock

One of the reasons for this is that for a NA (normally aspirated) engine, i.e. not turbo charged or super charged, the lower atmospheric pressure results in a lower compressed pressure (versus sea level) as the piston rises toward the top,

While not F1, I did get to check out the garage of a Nascar team and was blown away by the technology and engineering. The car has a ton of sensors recording all kinds of data, and they have a rig that can use that data to essentially put

Anecdotal as well, by myself, and all my peers (white, rural, Northeast) got the exact same talk. Hands on steering wheel, no sudden movements, announce “I’m going to reach into my pocket/glovebox/etc..” before moving your hands

In the 90s many sites didn't ask for CVV, including AOL. And many gas station receipts printed the entire credit card number. And that's how some kids got online in the early-mid 90s...

Unsure about Umami's performance, but Piwik was a non-starter for several higher traffic sites I worked with due to performance issues (even after throwing big hardware at it).

I'm outraged about Trump's use of Federal troops in Portland as well. But to date they are either letting people go after grabbing them(in gross violations of their constitutional rights), or they are being charged with crimes in

Piwik utterly failed (for me) for any semi-high traffic site. Simply couldn't hand large volume logs fast enough no matter what hardware we threw at it:(

Anton, looks cool. A couple questions if I may: 1) What is the performance impact under typical production loads? Many JVM profilers are absolutely brutal to JVM performance and can't be realistically used in Production. 2) How does

What DB has a better active-active HA cluster option than RAC? I love me some Postgres and MariaDB but I've never seen anything come close to RAC for making high volume queries against active-active just work.

It's often higher performance and with better HA solutions than any other options. I have a lot of dislike for the company, but it's silly to say it's a poor choice for any organization size..

It would be bad because it would be enforcing a death penalty for theft, and because it's extra-judicial (no arrest, no jury, no conviction, etc...).

Roughly 25% of deaths in the US are people under 65. I think those people and their families would see the value in a vaccine.

There are plenty of people under 65 who are being killed or suffering major medical issues due to COVID-19. A friend of mine is in great health, 40, and spent 6 days in the ICU and may never recover fully (lung function damage). A vaccine
