It is unfortunately a necessary evil of most enterprise sales situations. My company started out by providing clear, public, easy to understand pricing on our website. We quickly discovered that many large companies expect to get large di

That is OFTEN how US employment contracts work though... Perhaps not in CA, but the rest of the US... Every employment contract I've been asked to sign has had some level of owning stuff I do off-hours (up to everything you do any time on

We don't have slow servers. We've measured before and afters on multiple clients and have seen quick page render times on the client end after rolling CloudFlare in. Caching static assets on a CDN (like CloudFlare) speeds up overall page

Correct. It's ISN'T DSA. It's very promising for eCommerce sites which may have a personalized header (Name, Cart Contents, etc...) and some customized Ads/CTAs/Marketing slots, but where the bulk of the page (often a very large page - 10

glusterfs would be fine for your situation. There's just some tuning you'll want to do to handle the WAN situation without performance hits.

Yeah. We use glusterfs to handle the IMAP sync between multiple VMs for HA IMAP. SMTP MX clustering is pretty straightforward in comparison:)

I doubt the IP ban is per account. Mine is a 5 failure within 1 hour rule, and if you get more than 4 of those ever you're perm-banned.

Upgrading RAM in an iMac is honestly probably more like replacing the carb with a Holley 4-barrell (in an older car), or swapping in a larger turbo, or something similar, than any of the examples you listed above. Although we may be waist

Sure, but that invalidates the complaint of it being infeasible to scp out 4 TB of data before your NYC DC runs out of power. Those 4 TB of data are already out of NYC, safely in some other DC where you have hardware. You just need new se

If you have paying clients, they WILL blame you and your team for the fact it's not working. They don't care who/what the underlying infrastructure is. Also a good hosting company will handle identifying/fixing/replacing bad hardware for y

It really depends on how many servers and how good your sys admins are. If you have 1 server in a cheap colo, then yes, the cloud is probably better. If you have a GOOD hosting provider, and build out a redundant at every tier cluster, yo

However the Asylum Films complaint isn't around the concept or script being copied/stolen. They complain that the company that re-shot the higher budget version essentially copied/stole much of their creative work: lighting, shots, etc...

This is wrong. You still need to be PCI compliant even if you don't persist the CC data. There are a few bullet points you don't need to worry about in that case, but the vast majority still apply if the system has anything to do with cre

I'd use DropBox much MORE if I had more than 15 Mbit upstream. If I had 1 Gbit+ speeds, I'd use DropBox for EVERYTHING (5+ TB) and happily pay for it. As it stands now the upload would take far too long to be much use.
