I think they're the most socially adept kids when speaking with adults , and the most socially inept when hanging with other kids, particularly medium-to-large groups. On average. I knew plenty of them who didn't fit the mold.

No, not surprising at all. In my time at the YMCA (in non-homeschool areas), I often found that new kids were not used to talking with adults, like me--their "group leader." At home, mostly they ate dinner and went to bed. At scho

My family is from the midwest, so not a new perspective I guess, but I would consider 6'/155 to be very skinny. I'm 6' myself, and I thought myself quite skinny at 185lbs. It's the weight I'm moving back to now

Only if you mean to make the phrase meaningless. Living somewhere that wasn't our natural habitat would be quite wild, and so we would cover everywhere and everything with the phrase. There's nothing wild about your house. We have

I used to work at a YMCA, and I taught PE for local homeschool kids. They would come every-other Thursday or something, and we did swimming, rock climbing, badminton, and a bunch of other stuff. That's a start, but I'll say that h

The parking lot possibly filled in an area where there was standing water and mosquitoes were breeding heavily. I've never noticed mosquitoes to be very light-shy.

That's cool. I might use that around my homestead in some areas where mosquitoes are breeding in animal drinking water.

Are you using stevia in all places you would use sugar? Are there any things/situations you can't use stevia for?

How many have you met? Considering there's only 17,000 worldwide, it seems unusual to have met and spoken with more than one of them. I've never met one, and the "everyone knows" line surprised me, because I don't k

The Tim Ferriss podcast. He interviews top performers in basically any field, in a conversational style. Not everyone likes Tim. He's kind of seen as a self help guy. But that isn't important, because the show is not about Tim. Th

I clean the pan about 80% of the time with just salt and a paper towel. Pour salt in, rub it around, dump salt in the trash, marvel at how nice the pan looks (seriously, I have to admire it every single time). The other 20% I need water bec

I love cast iron, but the thing to not like is the uneven heat. Still, never trading. If I manage to reproduce, my offspring will be the fourth generation to own and love the 10" Wagner skillet I got from my grandmother.

I doubt the GP is taking offense to the term influencer. I'm also disappointed influencers exist (in their current social media state, anyway), but I'm glad we have a term for it. I don't especially care which term we use.

I agree with this comment, except its feasibility. Non tech people do not trust tech, even if (unaffiliated) tech people assure them it's trustworthy. An example: a poker room near me had electronic tables. They were fantastic--super f

It's a common trend to make claims like this, particularly about food. For instance, my brother loves to tell you how there's no "real chicken" in a McChicken sandwich.

I've noticed that truck drivers frequently stay in passing lanes while not passing. I think it's a recent phenomenon, though I can't think of a reason for the change.

No, but it has a feature where it only uses 4 cylinders when it can. It decides on its own, you can't do it manually. It gets 22-23mpg on the (flat) highway.
