Much of the food tastes better (and much of it tastes exactly the same). It's really nice to have lettuce all the time, and I like being able to pick cherry tomatoes for a snack.

I really hate PayPal, for close to the full 20 years. I still use them mainly because of eBay. I know that's but required now, but it was until pretty recently. It's still often easier to use the PayPal checkout instead of making

I looked Derek up on Facebook and it seems he's living a good life. Beautiful wife, four kids, and seems like he coaches youth sports. He'll never have my blue ribbon, though.

Honestly, not that bad. Classmates openly laughed during announcements. The next day they issued a correction, which was worse than no correction. A few teases in the first week maybe, overall quite merciful.

Seems like we should be studying people like this teacher. They've cracked a code but we act like it's individual excellence that can't be transferred.

In fourth grade we had a paper airplane contest, but they had a restriction on the design: a circle about the size of a quarter was on the page, and no fold or crease could go through the circle. The circle was located a few inches above th

I took a similar approach, but I need messenger and I often use marketplace. So I unfollowed every human in my feed. I doubt I've got them all yet, a few months in, but some old friends the algorithm just never shows. I replaced it wit

I'm not a fan of gatekeeping either, but on HN the proper etiquette is to give the poster the best possible reading of their post. I just interpreted their post as talking about bigger, organized projects, instead of small scripts. I p

No, not as opposed to a fake codebase. I think it's clear what they meant. One incredibly common alternative to a codebase is a script.
