This is pretty cool! A few thoughts from a C/C++ perspective (I have only tinkered briefly with Rust): - This effectively makes the optimization algorithm part of the Rust ABI; you cannot change (or even fix a bug in) the layout algori

You seem to imply the Pb-210 only starts decaying after the refining occurs. I'm as curious about this as the grandparent - why? Edit: Figured it out in the reddit thread linked elsewhere ( https://www.reddit.com/r/

Not really. More like: if the way you make satellites dramatically changes on a continuing basis, then some solid knowledge in physics might prepare you better to adapt to the changing times than being trained in the current methodology.

The article is titled "Green finance for dirty ships" - the misleading HN title (which doesn't show up anywhere in the article) _is_ the problem in this case, IMO.

If you had a magic oracle and, say, bought a ball for the fair price of $1 the day before you knew it would spike to $100, you are denying the seller an honest opportunity to sell it for $100. It's the moral equivalent of keeping your

Can someone explain what on earth the type of 'error' is? It starts off as 0.0 but then gets +='ed with expressions containing tf.Variables, so I assume it turned into some object that is basically function? Why not write it

Not necessarily. (I'd actually argue "not at all.") Presumably you have a text format in the first place because you want your representation to be human-readable [with common tools like a text editor], and very likely human-

This is cool, but the frame-to-frame variance is distracting. I really want to see this reimplemented with temporal constraints a-la this paper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Khuj4ASldmU

Are these videos of an functioning piece of software, or mockups? There are a lot of interactions that are glossed over, and it's not obvious to me how this software would function. I'm also skeptical about the characterization of
