What happened to the clean branding that the current splash/Kickstarter campaign page have? The textures here are really distracting, even in 400x300.

Regardless of age, I'd assume they'd rather take notes [on her behalf] than not attend.

I don't get the teacher-blaming here. Imagine you're a student in that class; you're stoked to see this talk, but one of your classmates can't get in. You feel terrible but you've been looking forward to this. If the teacher decides to "sti

Ah, I read your post as if you guys literally just showed up and expected to get in. Did they know you were all together? I think you did the right thing by allowing the rest of the class to attend, but I feel terrible for your student, esp

I'm confused - they had a guestlist and everyone else in the class but her was on it, or none of your students were on it and they decided to exclude her personally?

Right? I spent a good chunk of time trying to figure out who was behind it so I could send them some money, but couldn't. They finally added a form so I hit them up to put a donate button on there. If it interests you at all, I try to put a

Ideally, yes. I'm not saying that we should award physical capability with hoards of cash as an incentive (although in sports entertainment we do), but to have a shot at being on the podium at these levels, competing against people that are

A three-slider HSL color-picker. It was really hard for my co-workers and I to pick the right hue without worrying about dealing with the saturation too. I'm used to color-pickers so it wasn't as bad for me, but they kept thinking they coul

Agreed. I love the idea of the Olympics, but the majority of these athletes seem to have to rely on sponsorships to make a living despite their rigorous, continued training. Sometimes sponsorships by companies whose products are more harmfu

This happened to me on the Facebook ad too, but I preferred it it over the lack of any response at all - it proved the services were used. Easy to ignore them or send a generic reply.

Agreed, I personally think an HSL colorpicker would work better here, but I'd like to see/try others.

Super fun, thanks for building this! Had an issue where my Dropbox logo was only showing up at 50% opacity or so, so my final color was off by a lot more than I was expecting. My Shell logo was also just slightly darker red and I got a 58.

Confused about the blending in part. One of my biggest gripes is continually missing an app icon because it's blue (or otherwise similar to another, but generally blue). We just had a conversation in a similar thread the other day - "Make Y

I think Padmapper in particular is in a unique position where while they started with CL listings, it's proven itself an invaluable enough service to enough of us to the point where I'd use it exclusively to list my apartment over Craigslis

Exactly. Not taking advantage of what you can do - and how easy you can do it - in the code right away just means more time wasted. Once you get the basic layout out, all Photoshop is good for is finding the colors you're going to use (whic

As someone who is 5'2 and prefers driving with the steering wheel a decent height above my legs, I wonder if I'd even be able to see the speedometer behind the steering wheel? Relying on color as an indicator is also a big problem.

Additionally, I think it is incredibly telling that we've been banning texting-while-driving and yet expect stationery, ~1ft away UI to be the solution. With texting, you still don't have the benefit of tactile feedback but you at least hav

I don't find Benjamin's posts as user-blaming, per se, but I definitely don't feel he adds anything to the conversation besides "I got to try an app before you and here's how it doesn't fit my iPad-only blogger lifestyle and therefore won't

My exact thoughts on the "re-imagination". Drop-shadows on disabled-looking and misappropriated icons that wouldn't even have made sense on the original had there not been labels for them.

I use it exactly as a master for my PSDs for a year or so and I've been really happy with it, even when the file is open on another machine or two while I'm editing it on a a third. If there's a potential to flatten the file upon save, I'd

I don't even think there's anything wrong with using templates as a means to display your work in the given context, but there's just no way of knowing on the current interface if the app actually shipped or is just eyecandy, and that's why

I was pretty stoked to wake up to the jealousy comment this morning. "Why would we make a mobile site for a site about mobile?" got me good too. What wonderful ways to respond to people you're trying to profit off of.
