Cain’s book is a good read and introversion is definitely a thing. It isn’t an in indicator of anti-social behaviour though and nor is it an excuse for it. This article however is not about that.

Betteridge's law says no. Not hard to see how this rubbish is top of the site when we’re flagging interesting technical articles off the site.

It doesn’t even have to be trustless, some of this crap is using RAFT (for speed), the assumption being that the participants are all trusted.

Plenty of people trying to sell private blockchain snake-oil for precisely that purpose. It’s all rubbish, just use a database.

Would it matter if I did? It’s essentially meaningless. There’s not really any logic involved.

Then using the platform becomes work. People realise it's not worth the effort and everyone apart from the nutjobs quit.

I would define it as “someone I disagree with and I would like you to disagree with too because they are not like us”. Essentially another approach to trying to create division and tribalism in discourse where it suits the person using it

Depends enormously on a persons tolerance. Lemmy (from Motörhead) used to drink a bottle of Jack a day with no noticeable effects. This is probably not recommended though. I think though if you get severe side effects from drinking a bottle

It’s not that simple. Even if getting into earth orbit gets cheaper and less risky, planetary exploration will still be hard, because it is hard and getting into space is not the hardest part.

That’s pretty defeatist. A cartel of corrupt politicians and large cable companies conspired to regulate against it. These regulations can just as easily be removed and replaced with proper net neutrality rules.

Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I find this kind of subversion amusing. Like all good jokes, it’s pretty close to the mark.

> We need a grey area Absolutely, life is shades of grey and never black and white. Unfortunately the noisiest people on the internet either can only think in black and white, or choose to do so to (to get note ‘engagement’ etc.)

Sure, but why do you want that on your board? Elon might have enough money already but everyone else would like to continue making it. He is very good at guerrilla marketing, but I guess they decided it wasn’t worth it.
