In the physical world I can call a locksmith. For work related MFA I can call my manager / IT. For personal accounts I do stress a bit about locking myself out - obviously have backup codes etc, but unfortunately I'm not sure that

If you haven't come across it yet, DBT (data build tool) is a nice solution to the later parts of the pipeline (once you have the raw source data somewhere) https://www.getdbt.com/

Which of the various options would people recommend for setting up a single node cluster on a spare laptop (i7, 16gb ram)? I currently use a collection of docker-compose files, but am toying with the idea of switching it out for k8s

For me the Android emulator in conjunction with a fairly large react native dev server and an ide is enough to fill 16gb. I've had to resort to closing the ide before starting the emulator, and waiting for the first build to complete o

One thing I'm very happy to see on their configuration page is the choice of keyboard layout. It feels like most companies assume that you must want the standard layout for the country you're currently living in, when personally I

What you just describes definitely works in modern versions of Nautilus. Just checked on fedora 34. I have a nagging memory that this may not have worked in the past though. I actually find Nautilus perfectly fine to use. My biggest gripe i

During the rebuild of Christchurch, NZ they used this technique for a number of buildings, basically pumping out water with one well, then re-injecting it with another as I understand. Essentially exploits the ground water remaining a const

I completely agree with the sentiment of that post. I've generally always found it difficult to find something in this space that produces a layout that's easy to follow, and easy to experiment with. I think I'd like somethin

I wish that github would stick multiple commit messages into the default pr body - if I have a single commit it'll prefill the pr body from its message, but have a series of commits it won't. Should use the same rules as it's

This sounds fine from a technology perspective, but personally I wouldn't be comfortable building iOS apps professionally running osx in a VM - I'm fairly sure this violates the license which could turn into a big head ache later.

As far as I understand the license you're allowed to self host this for free, so long as you're monitoring your own stuff rather than reselling monitoring as a service. I can see this being very attractive for side projects /

I've generally used `PARTITION BY` to achieve the same effect in big query (similar to what was suggested in the article for postgres). Does the `ARRAY_AGG` approach offer any advantages?
