How do you know that this was the cause of death when all we know is that these people were tested positive on Covid19 before they died? Not denying that Covid19 is a thing and measures are necessary but I think this question is valid when

Note: The two paragraphs in the link you replied with, are not evidence at all. For example the author also neglects the variance in the mortality rate each year. If they were evidence, then the author would deserve a nobel price in epidemi

What I find concerning is that in Germany at least one expert gets put into one basket with Conspiracy Theorists, who just says: "From looking at the numbers, we don't yet see anything out of the ordinary compared to other years.&

You're comparing the number of deaths this year only to the number last year in the exact same time. What were the numbers in the years before? Comparing it to only one previous year doesn't allow to say that this is significant.
