I buy Windows laptops for the purpose of running Linux. Little things do happen like bezels coming loose, coil whine and fan noise. I have been happy with Apple for over a decade. My MBP 2018 was an exception. The rubber seal around the scr

There are many languages that are easier to follow than C#. Every import in Go or Node is explicit. You don't need an IDE to tell you which package a method originates from. Anyway, my point is there are very legitimate reasons why mos

Don't think it's just about coolness. In .NET there is usually one way to do things, the MS way. You don't have options. Whatever MS prescribes is practiced by most enterprise shops. I remember arguing for something closer to

I find all three (Linux, MacOS and Windows) to be fairly stable. It's been many many years since I've run into either BSOD on Windows or the beach ball of death on Mac. My guess is faulty hardware. I've had plenty of those on

WARNING! I just tried installing debian/bullseye with this. Networking inside the distro was not working. Even worse, when I tried using my main WSL2 Ubuntu distro to do work, networking broke there too. BAD. I'm on Windows 11. UP

Apple, without a doubt, has the best touch pad. The size of the 2015 MBP touchpad was perfect then Apple decided to super size it. Still don't understand the decision behind it.

I'm an AMD fan. The comparison should not even be close TBH. We're talking about a laptop chip that can run on battery for an extended period of time that performs as well and sometimes better than the high end consumer AMD deskto

The UI is confusing (double negatives). Does Red "Disable Inventory Collector" mean that is enabled? Red, to me, usually means off on a toggle switch. It's explained in the help.

Can you run whole desktop environments like XFCE, Gnome; or run a Window Manager like i3? I'm a long time VMware user and never really used Unity (name?) view which allows running Linux apps seamlessly on Windows or Mac. WSLg seems to

Vue has vuex, so there's a need for actions and reducers. React state has become much simpler with packages like zustand and it works wonderfully with typescript. It's not really that big of a deal to have another import. Vue'

Don't get me wrong I prefer lua to vimscript in almost every way. For migrating my existing settings, I didn't see the need to translate to lua, `vim.api.nvim_exec([[ ... ]])` and `vim.cmd('source ' .. path_to_vim_file)`

It's good times :) Next and Gatsby do too much for our use cases which are LOB applications. We've had to work around the idiosyncrasies of Next.js when we really don't need SSR nor its limited custom server support. Astro ma

An underlying appeal of React is it's just Javascript (yes even JSX templates). CSS-in-JS gives you the same flexibility and control over CSS from Javascript. No need to learn SASS, Less etc. It replaces the functionality those utiliti

Many editing operations involving the the mouse can be reduced to a few key strokes in Vim and become second nature. As an example, how many coders reach for the mouse when they cut text in "modern" editors? I don't think the
