This is actually pretty cool. From what I can gather from the website, this is basically a 150 KB client that can run on the low-power, feature-thin phones common in emerging markets (the kind of phones that cost $10-50 to make and that Nok

Isn't it more likely that a relative simply requested LinkedIn to delete the account? A LinkedIn account doesn't seem relevant to keep online at all after the person has passed away. Facebook, on the other hand, leaves pages up but with mos

Simply because a vulnerability in the transport layer results in every service relying on that protocol to be vulnerable? Are you saying that a remote code execution vulnerability in TCP would not be worse than one in for instance FTP? (I a

I definitely think that there's space for both Bitsybox and CushyCMS, but it would be interesting to hear you talk about the differences.

I'd never heard of Global Gaming Factory X before, but apparently they own both Smartlaunch and CyberCafePro, which are both major products for managing "cyber cafés".

I'm sorry for being unclear. What I am asking is basically how many calls are generated from posting a phone number on a website, i.e. what percentage of website visitors who will call a phone number provided it is available.

Washington Times just broke through Safari 4's popup blocker and showed me a _really_ obnoxious ad for an Economist subscription. We're talking 600x400 pixels of #FF0000, flashing.

The largest study I know of found no increase in oral and lung cancers for snus consumers as compared to nonsmokers who did not use any tobacco. However, the risk for pancreatic cancer is double that of people who do not use snus. Source:

Looks great. Could you elaborate on how your "automated" plans work? Who does the moderation - are you using Mechanical Turk, outsourced employees, something else? I'd also like to see a "developer" plan, for sites that haven't launched.

Your reaction to this suggests to me that you may have mistaken what meritocratic and egalitarian mean. People with these qualities do not usually care about things such as ones "pedigree", thus the GP's confusion that hackers look down upo

Assuming that Foo Inc. has not presented any demands as to when you have to cease control over foo.com, what you want to do is to set up a HTTP 301 redirect to your new domain phoo.com and leave it indefinitely. Human traffic will probably

From the product tour, this looks like a well-executed product which definitely can bring value to recruiters. Two things stand out to me: 1) charge more per contact or consider a different model, the value you are providing is definitely a

Thanks! :) There are a few API-type options like Ribbit available for those who like to tinker and we actually considered using one of them first for RoboNOC. However the value-add we're trying to provide is both ease of use but also redund
