Your reasoning basically reduces to: I trust Telegram and I don't trust Meta. Security-wise WhatsApp is way more secure than Telegram because it uses the open-source Signal protocol [0]. [0] https://www.whatsapp.com/sec

Web 3 introduces new problems because of decentralization. It's not a solution, it's an alternative.

No one doubts that platforms can be powerful. At least I fully agree with that. But what is the benefit of a decentralized platform powered by blockchain? Spotify is a very successful platform for artists. No blockchain involved.

Ofcourse WhatsApp is not open source, as opposed to Signal (the app). You can never be truly sure if the protocol is implemented without backdoors because you can't verify the code. But I agree, WhatsApp is a pretty solid app.

WhatsApp is end-to-end encrypted. WhatsApp actually uses the Signal Protocol. Probably the best protocol they could use. It's described pretty detailed in a whitepaper publicly available on the WhatsApp website: https://www.

Even iMessage is barely used. In The Netherlands, WhatsApp is king. And WhatsApp doesn't discriminate.

I think the reason is even simpler: lack of games and exclusives.

Your premise is wrong. You have not inherited the worst case and tech team you have ever seen. Two reasons for this: (1) You haven't inherited anything, the business owns the code, not you as an individual. You and the tech team need t

The current design is simple but lacking imo. Font size is small, not touch friendly. Also annoying that a single new line doesn't do anything, you need to have two. Doesn't make sense at all.

Docker is not fully reproducible either. Try building a Docker image from two different machines and then pushing it to a registry. It will always overwrite.

You are talking about declarative configuration of VMs. Vagrant offers that, right?

I always find React/Vue comparisons with vanilla JS so curious, as if there's feature parity. No one would say "I rewrote this Flask REST API in vanilla Python".

This is actually quite easy. Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook or Lenovo ThinkPad. All work well with Linux and have good support and/or can be purchased with additional warranty. Don't expect a 1:1 MacBook replacement though. Keyboards

I think if you are on a free tier and your business depends on it, you should anticipate for changes in said free tier. If you want guarantees, you need to be a paying customer.

No cyclist likes to cycle on pavements. This is a symptom of the absence of proper bicycle infrastructure.

You totally ignore the car tax on society. Just look at how much space car lanes and parking spaces take. The simple ability to take a walk around the city does so much for actually living in the city, instead of everyone transporting thems

Amsterdam is not representative of Dutch bicycle culture. Amsterdam is crowded with narrow bicycle lanes that are often shared with cars. The great thing about the Dutch bicycle structure is that it spans the entire country. It's not j

Fyi, Amsterdam is one of the worst places as a cyclist in The Netherlands. It's very crowded and narrow with very few separated bicycle lanes. The average bicycle infrastructure in the Dutch suburbs are way better.

Is it far to compare 11th Gen U-series to 12th Gen P-series? Performance is higher, but this comes at the expensive of much higher power draw. I think 11th Gen U-series vs 12th Gen U-series is a more interesting comparison.
