Edit/delete window is past, so mea culpa for anyone else in this thread: sibling comment from bandyaboot is right on the limited path to exemption. I was mistaken on how much withholding flexibility there was for employees (aside from

An individual can't ever opt out of payroll taxes, that's an employer's responsibility. Income tax withholding, however, can be adjusted with a W-4. As others have mentioned, though, anyone making a reasonable income is goi

I'm not sure if you're describing something else, but tax withholding is voluntary. You can opt out and choose to pay your estimated taxes as a lump sum, but that also requires a level of budgeting that I'd argue most people

This is super cool! We built something in the same vein but using Mux as a way to dog food our products[1]. This is certainly doing more product-wise, though in terms of being similar shape-wise to Loom. I noticed your demo example in your

So much this. I think I must be missing something here about the context here, but even then I think it's extremely hyperbolic for the author to make the leap from "I don't like Markdown for [x]" to "Markdown is obj

I was going to say the same thing. There are some active Stripe folks on here, curious if this post itself will trigger anything internally there.

This makes me miss when browsers just had “offline mode” built right in. It certainly wasn’t foolproof, but it was often enough.

I think I like this, but I can't find any high level information about what this actually is , which is surprising given how popular the project seems to be. I figured the marketing site might have more details, but it's remarkab

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume this is a marketing site problem and not a product problem, but either way, not a good look. Reminds me of Google's big Bard announcement including a wrong answer in the i

You say this in your post (and allude to it here), so not trying to be pedantic, but explicitly surfacing it here for other folks that don't click through: Ecto isn't an ORM. I love Ecto. In my opinion, Phoenix has a lot of stre

I (softly) disagree with stored procs being definitively the "best way to do the data layer." Stored procs are an extremely powerful tool to have in your belt, but lord have mercy do they have their own tradeoffs.

I keep seeing people mention the battery life as the total blocker for the flight use case, but I honestly don’t remember the last flight I was on > 2 hours that didn’t have outlets available.
