I see, that makes sense. The bytecode part still has to be implemented in a browser though, right?

As I understand Webassembly, it's meant to replace JS completely as a native implementation in a browser. That is, it's meant to replace the JS interpreter. Not sure if I understood it correctly though.

These are more like transpiling, right? That is, there is a direct translation from <language> into JS? I was thinking more along the lines of how a compiler works, translating into some kind of AST and then converting into JS from t

I'm planning this at the moment. I reached out to people I knew who live in the city or have lived there and asked about where to live, where to eat, what to avoid, etc. I also asked if they'd be willing to introduce me to 1-3 pe

Hi, had a couple of questions: * Any plans to offer an app to purchase vs subscription model? I need support for Exchange and rules but can't justify the monthly price tag * Is the app downloading the messages directly or do you store

One other thing - whether you want to travel or not, reading Vagabonding is helpful for the mindset. Some of Tim Ferriss' writing on this is helpful too. The idea of financial freedom is not a one-size fits all. It really depends on

I'm in a similar boat, except I have 10 years on top of yours. It's actually been a lot of fun, the learning and building, but I've been driven by the same fear. First off, this is hard and very few (any?) have this figured

Is there a way to request that a school be considered for a visit? I'm sure you'll get a ton of requests, but with ~ 2,500 4-year schools, it would be a "voting" exercise. It, should, give YC a more diverse exposure as

It costs ~ $100k / lb and takes ~ 2 years to get a nanosat into space. But you can't have just one, you need a constellation, so how long does it take to get 6 satellites up and how much will it cost in the end? What if you could

Funny, watched that video right after I posted the question. I think the problem can be broken down into specific steps fairly easily. Executing those steps is not easy though - it is rocket science after all. YC doesn't seem to shy aw

I guess. I'm more curious about "rocket science" specifically. The applications, outside of Space X (and friends), are still being figured out. So for non-human flight, it's kind of like where drones were about 5 years

At my work, we have figured out a way to do this completely automated. We use Packer + Ansible for creating the AMI, Terraform to setup AWS and launch 3 Consul instances based on the AMI. Last part is we have Go program (started with Bash)

Really like these. Been subscriber to Inside since it started and it's a fantastic summary of the daily news. I've started reading Inside Security and it's a good overview of news for someone not in the security industry.

Happy to do the same. Been through similar feelings, including the spiral of self-doubt and constant failure. Maybe my experience can give you another point of view or some ideas on figuring out what's next. Happy to be a sounding boa

I feel like it happens every few years, just depends on the job. So far, I've always bounced back, usually through change of scenery or taking a vacation. Every time I get too far down the hole, I'm reminded of what Tony Robbins

+1 to this On the burnout and working with jerks, spot on. Sometimes, there is nothing you can do. Sometimes you can even recognize it in time, other times you can't. Best lesson, learn to recognize burnout and either take a vacation

This sounds more like burnout and, to some degree, boredom. I've been there twice now, in the last 5 years. I've been lucky to have someone talk about the underlying desire to quit with me. I've also been unlucky enough to j

I'm curious if you discussed your desire to move into a management position with your supervisor. If you did discuss it, what, if any, feedback did you get? Based on your statements in your question, the frustration is obvious, so is

I'm not convinced that leading is the job of a manager, at least not all managers. As an example, a line manager, someone who manages the work of several developers, is more of a Project Manager / People Manager and less a leader

I've used Practical Electronics For Inventors by Scherz Monk. I really like this book, it explains things well and simply. There's a lot of content, but chapter 3 alone is really helpful.
