Your post, youtube link and quote is quite ironic given the title of this thread. You link to a youtube podcast of kids stating things as if they are facts, its just a podcast. I've never heard these things actually said anywhere. It m

My hypothesis is: Humans are social and need social interaction to thrive. However we are not wired for the diversity of interacting with 7 Billion people and all the derivatives. We thrive in small groups where there is high trust social n

I've tried multiple times with a TikTok account to get me useful videos and its always kids playing some weird games. FB/YT are much better and instantly switching content when I skip past a video. TikTok is unusable for me.

Ahh yes, the left's version of "If you don't agree with us on everything you are a fascist." Boring.

Are you talking about the quote where he referred to people brining Fentanyl in that is killing people? I didn't see anything wrong with his little speech.

HN is the ONLY place I've seen Kagi recommended as useful. So much so I bought it for a year and had to move back to google. I was missing so many search results. Maybe I didn't configure Kagi enough? But I don't want to conf

Why make it a vscode extension if the point of these 3 tools is a cli interface? Meaning most of the people I know use these tools without VSCode. Is VSC required?

Actually the opposite is happening, more and more vibe coded source code is making it to github. You could argue about quality but not "No one will ever want to open source their code ever again".

FWIW I agree with you. I don't know Rob at all but he seems to be influencing enough for this long thread. But the tone of his message is really off: "Raping the planet"? If his concern is with massive datacenter water and st

100% my assumptions but: They were never really working on it, they thought it would just go away. Maybe some junior/senior dev took a shot at it, gave a project plan and it went nowhere.

I have empathy for anyone who was required to use cargo on a nfs mounted fs. The number of files and random IO cargo uses makes any large project unusable. I had to stop telling people to stop syncing their cargo env around nfs so many time

Kazakhstan is in the same situation. The people would be better off speaking Russian, although it should not be forced through violence. See Hong Kong + Mandarain, etc...

So we should hate all Russians and it's culture because of Putin? As a Ukranian you should know that there is a lot of shared [positive] culture between the two, so where do we decide where the interest lays?

Exterminating languages is one way to put it, progress is another. Languages have died throughout time, as long as the language is preserved in a book for scholarly reasons I see no issues. It also depends on how it's done, politically
