To sum up most of the comments here: Google is the new Microsoft. Fascinating, how a company can go from "we will not do evil" to "fuck you all" in just 5 years.

For me, standing next to a running car is already sort of noise polution, especially if the car could be turned off as well. Last time I heard a drone fly overhead, I definitely felt anoyed. People tend to overlook the impact their toys ha

Oh yes! "We monitored a few phones for a few minutes and are now so convinced that we write an article telling everyone to relax" While I am not a fan of conspiracy theories, such half-assed pseudo-proofs actually make me believe

I am blind, but I am not a primary speech synthesis user, I prefer tactile braille. However, I know a number of people which are using their speech synthesizers at rates similar to what you described above. My theory/experience with t

Maybe people should watch more old movies from the 20th century. This reads like satire, but its true!

I dont believe your point at all. Do you know how high the psychopath rate amongst managers is? You would be shocked. I really dont believe that someone having fought their way up to a job that pays a 7 figure number per year actually car

Anyone surprised that an U.S. company was actively trying to bypass regulations to boost commercial success? If money is all you are aiming for, putting people at risk is suddenly not a problem at all.

Why should it? AIUI, suicidal people actually want their suffering to end. Going through a VR suicide is totally useless to achieve their actual goal. I think you mistake the motivation. Most people dont kill themselves because they are

> But this was crazy. And rude. And selfish. And utterly, disgustingly, narcissistic. That pretty much sums up 2/3 of our society. Dealing with stupidity of the masses will be one of the bigger challenges of the future.

Are you actually a user of accessibility? To me, it doesn't feel like you are. If I am right, please refrain from patronizing people who actually do. In my book, you have no idea how horrible the situation has become over the last 5

However, a significant portion of HTML mail I receive happily violates "accessibility laws" and omit to provide a text-only part. I know that, since I actually rely on accessibility to do my daily work.

No, that is not realistic. With all the fucked up security nonsense and checkin times, and the time you need to get to the airport(s), its likely more like 5 or 6 hours vs 8. And considering the environmental footprint of a flight, I woul
