Well, Python was at the right place at the right time. I am actually happy that array-oriented programming (via Numpy) got mainstream. A lot of great ideas came from sheer number of people doing tinkering and great engineering in this domai

We are getting closer and closer to differentiable APL running on GPU. I like this direction :)

This is fun idea. With these kind of coding tasks you won't get any advantage of using differentiable programming paradigm, but it is a nice reminder how syntactically bad TensorFlow is. Code of any differentiable program should look i

CRDTs (and Y.js especially) will deliver what Google Wave promised. Not as a single unifying UI for communication, rather all existing apps can get collaborative power where it makes sense. And that is a game changer for me – as a user and

Y.js has pretty good integrations with editors. What would you wanted to see in particular? BTW Rust port of Y.js might be start of something rather wild. :)

In JavaScript world, there is ImmutableJS, which uses this style of updates. However, there is better approach which is what ImmerJS uses – you write a function where you can do mutation to the target data structure, wrap it in a "prod

I wrote a lot of class components and getting used to effects was a 2-week-long headache for me. But then it clicked and I can't go back ever again. Hooks are really nice abstraction. However, sometimes I would like people to name thei

It is a good movie . It introduced Turing to the masses in a compassionate way. Also it showed normal people that cryptography, despite being rather boring and mathy, is extremely important in everyday life. I also enjoyed Breaking the Cod

APL started on blackboard, where writing weird math symbols is easy. Since we have computerized tablets with pencils now, it seems like a good idea to explore weird symbols again. https://mlajtos.mu/posts/new-kind-of-pa
