Which hardening options are Apple ignoring? I would have thought the standard types of ones (debian's default) would also be set on macos/ios, eg https://help.apple.com/xcode/mac/current/#/devf8

Pre-auth ssh vulnerabilities are pretty rare, seems likely to be ok unless the BMC software has surprise extra accounts.

"15 years ago" is a silly number, it wasn't usable then. Maybe 6 years ago when python 3.5 was released is a better comparison? I agree with them getting rid of python2 though.

Exactly. DoH seems a fix to work around US ISP monopolies vs something actually desirable. Normal DNS has plenty of opportunities to work around bad providers and keep going.

RGB mixing doesn't seem very natural though. In physical reality you do end up with that rainbow, a random example mixing paints https://www.justpaint.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/JP26.pd...

Time of year for image capture would be worth checking - some places vary a lot. Interesting idea anyway. Reminds me how Google maps changed to a more blue-green (pine?) for forests which seems jarring for Australian forests or woodlands.

Reminiscent of http://ronja.twibright.com/about.php , from before wifi was cheap. It's a 10mbit optical link (AUI ethernet!) using bright LEDs and magnifying glasses.

Before SAAS (all the products you mention?), people could reject changes by refusing to update to the next version - see Windows Vista. Now that feedback mechanism has been lost, so there's less of a handbrake on developers pushing for

If it's BYO power brick you could also colo a second computer inside the power brick, using the rpi as a "modem" for it. Put a tamper resistant device inside that case.
