Sure you’re not obligated, you just have a pretty rubbish worldview. To be fair so does a lot of the world - buyer beware is a defacto standard, doesn’t mean it’s a moral one though.

The OpenAI GPT-3 API access policy talks about how you grant them the right to use anything you feed the API to improve it, so I assume they're doing some kind of continuous retraining
