I've seen variants of this article a number of times. Is it really many decades from here already getting below 20nm feature sizes with Si?

Drove up from NYC. As shown in your write-up there was a good diversity of startup experiences expressed which made it worthwhile. One thing that I noticed, probably particularly since it is a decision I am weighing heavily now, is the emph

And that should be a softball question: why are you doing this startup over a multitude of others you could be doing?

I'm there right now working on a new idea I came up with today, TaskTurtle. It's like TaskRabbit but for tasks that you don't need to get done anytime soon and want to spend far less on. Economy shipping vs overnight delivery. We match up p

Obviously before these type of meetups entrepreneurs were successful in creating companies so it's not a requirement. But there is a lot of value in getting out there and interacting with people, it's only networking for networking sake if

I've been playing around with it for a week and I really like it so far, enough to transition everything over from Basecamp. I really like that I'll be able to incorporate the development progress easily into an internal status page for our

YC is a unique thing so any analogy will break down. The article did mention 'American Idol' which I thick is a lot closer, as A.I. has that same sense of people pinning their hope on getting in, the best talent winning out (in theory), con

For a relatively brief piece on YC I think it was very accurate, capturing the significance of YC, the experience of the founders, and the general excited feeling all around that imbues YC. Obviously it's for a more general audience so prob

How does the running performance of WebGL compare to what would be possible if it was a native app? Are there inherent limitations of implementing this in the context of the web that will keep it much slower or will continuing optimization

Yes, but not just an idea. Assume each entry is scored with equal weight in terms of the business model, functionality, pitch and team. If functionality=0 (no working app) you may limit the maximum absolute score to 75, which may in fact be

I've heard teams have won hackathons with 0 lines of code, which makes sense to me. Biz model+mockups+presentation (and if it seems technologically feasible) should beat the neatest app.

I really want to try CoffeeScript out but am fairly comfortable with developing with plain JS (I say that now at least). One thing that would make me likely to jump in right now is if it will make development faster, caring less about the b

Really cool. I really want to play that 3D maze-like game. The link says this was created in 2006/7. Have there been any advances since then in terms of resolution, or otherwise?

three.js ( https://github.com/mrdoob/three.js/ ) An easy to use wrapper for doing 3D graphics via JS using canvas, WebGL, and SVG renderers. Check out the cool demos. I'm betting 2011 will see a lot done with this and similar libraries.

Agreed. 7 miles at a moderate pace shouldn't get you too sweaty either, but you do lose time by most likely having to spend 5 minutes cooling down or cleaning up before actually sitting down at your desk. Also helps to live in a city such a

What kind of hardware hacking culture exists in the area currently? It is my perception (which is not to say right) of New Delhi as an software outsourcing center that doesn't do much hardware.
