I cannot like Rust syntax, sorry. For me the ideal syntax is C/Go, just to be clear what I like. But I agree that the tooling that cargo introduced is a breath of fresh air in a world dominated by huge makefiles, libraries copied in th

This is the bomb that sank C++ in 2026. Have fun justifying that Rust is "also" unsafe, with the right tools you can achieve the same in C++, if you're a great dev you can do even better, etc.

Some days ago I took again a look at Rust. I don't like the syntax at all, and coming from a Scala background that should say a lot. I will never like it, unless they simplify it. However, they implemented at compile time all the rules

This you can apply to almost everything we have been doing in the last 50 years I guess. We're constantly being told to buy new because 1) more energy efficient, 2) better in terms of safety, 3) more environmental friendly, 4) it was b

Where is it any different? Some are more obvious than others. At least with Fox you know where they stand and you know you need to verify your source all the time. It's way better like that. Other media companies are very subtle, so mu

Some days ago I decided to look at Zig a bit more in detail. So I skipped the usual marketing and I checked why it could be an alternative to C or Rust. Could it be? It seems that (debug) allocators are a nice idea, however, it seems that t

Imagine going in the streets as a normal human being and advertising these companies (the scammers, I mean). You would never see the light again, after fighting countless battles with lawyers (rightly so!), ending up in prison. But these gu

It'd be nice to use it for server side too, but the ecosystem is really not mature and the build system is not on the same level of Gradle or similar. Plus, most of the open source libs are one person's weekend projects, from 3 ye

It's all because of something that started years ago: the move to the cloud. Companies started to move to cloud like there was no tomorrow. Their on-prem products became maintenance or zombies. Now you want the self hosted? Good luck.

I prefer a guy that performs a show like Musk to a Zuckeberg that is leading our youth to a very bad path - probably worse is only Tiktok. And all for some coins. At least the guy says what he thinks, which you might agree or disagree with.

Not sure how uv helps here, because I am not very familiar with it. With pip you update a dependency, it won't work if it's not compatible, it'll work if they are. Not sure where the issue is?
