Thanks - I’m currently importing the whole list into Feedly, which I’ll probably regret. The user experience is so hilariously bad compared to social medias, and I’m finding it funny that today Meta has released their new threads app. Anywa

Really liking the idea of a blog revival. I’m still posting after all these years. I have a blog, linkblog, podcast and newsletter. Currently still quite minimal. I’m trying to ensure it works well with little to no CSS, then progressively

I’m interested to hear first impressions from other folks who have read through the Bluesky AT protocol specifications. What do you think about them?

It’s certainly interesting to think about. We’ve been accelerating these chip improvements at exponential rates for a lot of years, and essentially just as we hit the highest speed ever, and highest dependence, we are going to hit a brick w

I wonder how significant it is that there is all this worldwide expansion of chip making factories just as we get to 3nm architectures, I say that because there aren’t very many nm’s left, what happens when we get to zero?

Yeah the creative possibilities have definitely increased. It’s a cycle though, the early podcasters and vloggers look at today’s crowd and can’t believe how easy they have it...”we literally had to run a cli tool to download our podcasts!”

That sounds awesome. In many of the places I’ve been I couldn’t read any of the signage, it’s often not even obvious where the word boundaries are, it just looks like squiggles to me. And the apps people tell you by word of mouth, I often h

The real question though is how you determine the “dominant app”, that’s really not that obvious, especially when you don’t speak the local language. Long term you might be right, installing an app would be beneficial, but in the short term

In the countries I’ve been, people use all sorts of apps and each person is very shocked when you don’t have “the app” that everyone is using. And of course the fashions change over time, so app X is popular for a few years, then it’s app Y

I hadn’t thought of that, but your totally right. In the article’s picture, one of the space craft appears to be heading off in a direction outside of the solar plane, but it’s not by a huge amount. That’s why we need a way to create gravit

Cloudflare edge workers are pretty awesome for a lot of use cases. I was a bit disappointed that the article doesn’t really talk about the tech, felt like quite a lot of waffle. It’s great for inserting data into a page, because it runs on

Your points are even more valid when you start to move to different counties. You quickly realise that people in other countries often don’t use the apps you are using, in fact you most likely won’t have heard of the apps they are using. Bu

Literally everything in this area starts out as science fiction. I think the general idea of sending lots of small craft is a good idea. It would be great to hear from the people building these things which parts are not possible currently.

It doesn’t sound that hard, it’s just laser kites. I bet Elon could do it.

Tiny spacecrafts and sails with lasers. Yeah pretty sure that was it. Such a cool idea, and it would only take 30 years, which means a lot of us will still be alive to see it. Imagine seeing actual closeup pictures of “earth 2”. Anyway if t

I read somewhere that sending very small spacecraft to far away places was something that was being considered. Unfortunately I don’t remember the details. We just need an artificial gravity machine.

Its so cool that the entire solar system has a sort of ozone layer (the heliopause), I also really like the diagram that shows how each craft is travelling in different directions. I think we should have a new mission, send out huge amounts

Not sure I would call it fun. Combine this with rubik’s cube solver robot, AI, smart contracts, AR/VR, neuralink and this could be daily life for everyone in the year 2030. Rubik’s cube solver robot: https://m.youtube.com&#x

I’ve noticed a lot of “oddities” between languages of neighbouring countries. I theorise that neighbouring countries, especially those that fought a lot in the past evolve these odd language-language meaning issues. Some folks just start us

Great to read about the progress made, it would be awesome to have a Linux phone. I wonder how complicated implementing the phone part really is. Personally I would be happy with a device that 1) Has a web browser 2) Has a podcast app 3) Ca
