In theory that's true, but in practice it isn't. It's so easy to take a quote out of context and turn it around. Just look at Fox News. Or the headlines over at Reddit for that matter. "If you give me six lines written by the hand of the m

The Ipad and other devices that will undoubtedly appear are probably the best shot they've got. It's not about paying it's about psychology and transaction costs that are too high and cumbersome. Apple already proved with the Ipod/itunes co

It will be interesting to see whether the publishing industry, and particularly Old Media, will be able to leverage the Ipad and start making some money on their content.

It's interesting to note that the sites that are most successful in the long run are the ones that take the higher ground and employ some basic ethics and decency - and actually live by it. This is a perfect example of a sleazy practice tha

Actually they're not. Bengtson is an architect, and Madsen doesn't have a formal education at all. While they're by no means stupid they aren't geniuses either. But they're dedicated as hell, and that's what makes the difference.

I can't find the source right now, but I remember reading a paper where it was assessed that a new technology needs to be roughly twice as good as what it's replacing if it is to be successful due to the inertia the post describes. The post

Thanks for the research. Just a little nitpick - could you please not use URL-shorteners. It's nice to know where you're going before you hit the link.

Not to get into a flamewar about OS'es, but why start out with Safari? If you're looking for a large demographic, which I presume is the case, it would make the most sense to develop primarily for IE,then Firefox, then Safari. Is it a quest

Interesting to note that 97% of their revenue comes from advertising. That's a weak spot for them, and surely they know it. If some better disruptive technology comes along they could have serious problems.

The article and my reply was in relation to startups, not women in CS. Of course it might be pure gibberish, but I believe it does happen to coincide with currently accepted wisdom in evolutionary science.

Here's a related take on why there are no more women in startups from an evolutionary perspective. In reproduction, which is what evolution is made of, men and women are very different. A woman can only have one baby every nine months, and
