I've heard these called the German or Russian style integral sign. I don't know the actual history. I have seen this question [1] on the tex/latex stackexchange about making this integral sign. I would expect a journal to not

I think I'm missing a few major points. I wonder if someone here might be able to clarify. 1. The real meat of this "pwning" was (it seems) a google search to identify the WEB API endpoint. Then it turns out that sending POST

There is an interesting thing happening here. It appears the colors on the site are largely either similar to solarized-light or solarized-dark, depending on whether the user's browser has a dark-preference or not. The OP comment evide

I give out every paper I've published for free. Well, actually every paper I've published is also available in essentially final form on the arxiv, so I'm not a necessary middleman. But I read a lot of papers from a lot of pe

This article is astounding. I really appreciate the many examples. This also furthers my appreciation of the work that goes into some of the games that I've found really responsive or good in ways that I coulnd't express. I think

There is a subsection called matrix multiplication that is about this, and which explicitly mentions the proof of associativity both in the "clear" way and in the "slog through indices" way.

Yes, just slightly. It would take 133 bits. So I suppose a packet would only hold the width of the universe up to an error of maybe the width of 32 hydrogen atoms. Clearly unacceptable. I'm sure this be fixed in IPv7.

Taking this question at face value --- HN makes "new" accounts green for a few weeks. This presumably would make a flood of new accounts created to support some particular opinion or post more obviously manipulative (although I&#x

If I understand the code correctly, this is is lisp code that ultimately generates a json to be fed to the plotly javascript library [1]. That's sort of interesting. I sometimes work on specialized plotting tools for computational math

The reason this is happening here is because the customization telling mathjax to regard `$...$` as an inline equation occurs immediately after the script tag loading mathjax. Reordering these lines fixes this.

I think the success of such a workflow says a lot of positive things both about drewdevault and git. With respect to git, this is yet another successful workflow conducted through git. While git may have its flaws, one cannot deny that many

I've used two things in the past that have worked very well for me. I used an 11 inch sub 100 dollar chromebook for a couple of years as my mobile workhorse. For true transportability, I've used a tablet (with a terminal emulator

I've also thought about that! And I seem to recall being surprised by the answer --- something like 2 trees per year per person roughly balances out on average (assuming the trees are healthy, never die, and grow forever). As a citatio
