Once again the benchmarks are using outdated versions of frameworks (at least the languages I checked, like 2 or more years old).

What do you mean? You can create a new Spotify account with your e-mail. But I already gave up on Spotify since the web player is buggy and full of memory leaks. But I'm sure their apps are fine.

IMO it does not matter what other people are doing. I'm paying for this software so I want control (over my own hardware). Mobile is a lost cause but I literally can't afford to fight my desktop OS. It must work and be reliable. M

Personally, I can't stand OSX. Since running things on Wine or VM end it up being too much of a hassle, Windows is my only option. I did that for a couple of years though.

I think requiring the user to boot a Linux live CD and do some voodoo would be enough. Computer would have to self destruct if you failed the steps tho. "Do not turn off your computer, 5, 4.."

No shit. I was just trying to avoid the year of the linux desktop meme, since I gave up on that already, while also doubting that "they" are going to ditch Windows.

Let's be real, "they" won't. A select few might change to a mac, maybe a chromebook, and that's it. Developers are a case apart.

What you're going to do when a telemetry patch comes bundled with a security one? MS just announced they are doing updates in bulk for 7 and 8.1.

I wouldn't mind paying twice the price of Windows 10 Pro if I could select what I want installed and the OS respected that. No telemetry, no Cortana, no Windows Stores apps if I need to have a MS account. No missclick-based features (y

A few years back I anonymously reported a huge data leak. Weeks later they asked for my name and address so they could "send me a gift". To this day they still haven't fixed the leak. And I took a pass on that "gift"
