I'm the same as you. I've accumulated years worth of bookmarks which I dread organizing, but at least I can search for their titles. My current solution consists of: * Readability - things I intend to read soon. Works across browsers and de

Presumably, OC has had experience living in Russia and doesn't trust anything coming out of it, however brilliant.

Can you elaborate on why? I've found it to be far from intuitive and basically a direct mapping of CLI commands straight into UI elements. A user unfamiliar with command line git arguments would have a difficult time with SourceTree, I woul

I feel like a lot of what you're talking about is applicable to languages and technologies in general. Advantageous technological knowledge seems to be more about frameworks and domain-specific experience more than anything else; something

It was also very good! I much preferred its results to Rambler which was popular at the time (and the developer behind Rambler wrote ngnix, afair).

Perhaps I'm missing something but how is this a matter of opinion? If one wanted to avoid callbacks, which were the OC's original issue with node, one would break up the callback spaghetti into distinct, possibly prototyped objects, and glu

I have to ask: Why is there so much emphasis on planning a trip? What happened to mapping out a few attractions and spending the rest of the time stumbling around letting your feet and eyes be your guide? All my favourite trips have resulte

They have already. I regularly get properly phrased phishing emails from "PayPal". A few times I even got some from the banks that I use. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not, but the only thing that gave it away was the phishy URL.

This doesn't seem to be brought up in the thread, which is surprising: What about wifi? This month I've cancelled my $70/mo 6GB data/150 min talk service with Fido (Canada) and switched my iPhone to a prepaid SIM. Mostly because I've realiz

This isn't news. I've been using the beta for at least a month now. The player is great, but the rest of the UI is severely limited. No logging in is supported, so you're stuck searching for every song you want to hear.

There's an inherent assumption here that $2200 gets you a significantly better machine. It's true, but you can enjoy a massive jump in quality for probably around $150-1600. I believe that's what lubos is alluding to.
