I mean the article says that they "assume they have been destroyed" so maybe it's businesses paying for hardware to be destroyed and now it's not possible to resell instead.

Isn't there supposed to be a problem with health providers explicitly rejecting insurance companies/packages that are possible to buy yourself? You don't really have a choice if nobody where you live will take your insurance.

The conversation you are in: 1. It's the fault of the driver behind, for not leaving space 2. It's impossible to leave space, because cars will move in if there is a large gap 3. Why is this a problem?

I overtake you, the instant my car is 1m in front of yours I switch into your lane and hard break. Who is at fault for you crashing into the back of me?

Good luck maintaining a safe distance on a busy highway when every time you slow to make a space, somebody moves into the space from a different lane.

But you don’t know that to be the case, so shouldn’t we assume it’s possible? It’s not the possibility of communication with gravity waves that people are disputing, it’s that without as much science fiction as FTL the energy requirements a

How often do you imagine that the solar system is being visited? Radio waves have only been emitted for ~80 years. Industrialisation changing our atmosphere ~200 years. Even if something was persistently monitoring you are relying on “The c

A colleague has been tasked with writing a remote image viewer. It’s slower than before (running on the same machine) “because it’s client-server”. Naturally, the 16 Megapixel images are sent as an array of json floats…
