This is the issue. Yellow light lengths are also inconsistent: I don't know what to expect. Could be long, could be short. It's not always safe to suddenly stop, and we don't know which is which.

I've got the i7 9570; with undervolting, paste, and pads, it's pretty good. Though yeah, running with GPU is pretty much pointless.

That't pretty much my thinking as well. If paste and pads do so much, and if diverting a little bit of fan flow helps as well, why does Dell not do so? The XPS division is run by the same guy who runs Alienware; why can they not get

I've had a 9560 and currently have a 9570. Both have cooling issues. Undervolting helps, repasting helps, but VRMS become an issue. A guy named iUnlock did a pretty crazy mod where he diverts part of the fan airflow to cool VRMS, wh

When I read things like this, I start to wonder: when wealth inequality is discussed, how is it measured? I recall hearing that Jeff Bezos regularly loses billions due to fluctuations in Amazon stock. How much of the "wealth" i

If you're in America, that would (arguably) be a violation of your constitutional rights. Basically, the gov't isn't supposed to bother you until you committed a crime (until they have reasonable suspicion & a warrant or

This is a professional machine. No one wants to buy it and use hacky work-arounds, they want good drivers. Which aren't an option with nvidia on macos.

Press up ten times. That's still what a lot of us do in terminal (particularly when we're on a machine without fancy shell history fuzzy-searching etc.). I guess I might press and hold at ten.

You can add a nice bar to i3, and probably do even more customization. I'm guessing it wouldn't be to difficult to fork. It's a learning curve, but not too difficult to get over (I'd analogize it to vim). It's ni

The thing that originally got me to switch to i3 was using a serious potato for a few months. 2012 core i3 processor and 8g ram (upgraded) kind of potato. Plenty usable with i3, but had trouble with windows or heavier full desktop environ

Depends on the WM you're using. I think (?) there are gui frontends to pacman? Never bothered to use them. But gnome is available on it, same as ubuntu. Of course, it's almost certainly a little less friendly, but probably not

I sort of wonder: if we didn't publicize these the way we do, would it occur at the same rate? Terrorism happens so people can inflict terror. Less the terror, maybe it would reduce.

Please do the tab test. Some of us do this even if we don't need accessibility tools, as it can be faster (those who create forms which cannot be tabbed through are evil).

Regardless of positions on the issue, it's important to recognize that the UN has essentially no power. The only time it does is when certain powerful member states (mostly security council) agree to back a measure. In other words, h

To any one who reads this, don't actually do that. I wouldn't put it past Facebook to file a serious lawsuit against you. If it spread far enough, you could cause serious damage, and the SEC might even get involved.
